"An atrocious experience from the start. First of all please notify your customers you are in renovation or moving, the ambiance is ruined from the last time we have been here, no soap in the bathrooms and napkins are not folded. This already put a bad taste in our mouth.
After debating if we should stay here, we just decided it would be easier and proceeded to order a Sprite which we never received and overpriced drinks. The drinks would be okay if they were in the $7 range, not $11$12, but enough at that.
The food, 1 Lamb Karma and the Lamb Vindaloo. Lamb Vindaloo which I could remember used to be much bigger portion, I ate a few pieces of lamb, then realize the rest of the pieces are potatoes $14 for about 4 pieces of lamb and a potato.
The Lamb Karma was supposed to have a coconut flavor, not one resemblance of coconut came from the dish.
Onto the service, the sprite was forgotten, the chip-style sauce that you usually get an Indian establishment was forgotten until we asked for it. And then comes the bill to $95 which should have been around the $65 range, usually for similar food we get from other Indian restaurants which taste much better and has a much better atmosphere.
We must say we did have a friendly male server who made, or at least tried to make the experience as pleasant as possible. He was not the one to forget our sprite.
Who knows, maybe after they move or renovate, service will be back to where it once was, but it will be really hard to get us to come back."

"Such a shame. We used to order take out from here quite often. The food while expensive was great, and a wonderful splurge once in a while. I've heard they were going out of business, and passed by recently..the restaurant DOES look like they're closed, or in the process of closing."

"This place is pretty good but sometimes I question the authenticity. I feel that Taste of India in New Dorp makes it feel more authentic while all my friends love Indian Clove and would choose it over any other Indian Place The few that we have, I feel that it's missing the vibe of a cultural cuisine."

"Had dinner there last night. Food is absolutely the best Indian food I've ever had. Lamb Vindaloo was fantastic, spicy but not overpowering. Garlic Gobi appetizer was great too. Wife had Seafood Platter, she loved it. Service was wonderful, attentive, but not overly so.
The only negative was the fact they played Latin music... I love Latin Music, but this is an Indian restaurant.... should be playing Indian music in background, not salsa....
Overall, I will definitely go back for more!!!!"

"My wife and I went to Indian Clove for the first time the other night. We were seated right away and the place has a nice decor and atmosphere. Our dinner was opposite to the last review. The food was the saving grace over the poor service. We had the chicken 65, cooked and seasoned nicley. My wife had Chicken Tikka Masala and was happy with it, I had Lamb Vindaloo.. it was delicious.
The service was slow and weak. After being seated our waitress finally came by to get a drink order.. then disappeared...She eventually came back took our order.. then disappeared again until i had to track her down for a drink refill. The bus boy delievered our food and the hostess our bill. It seemed as if they were under staffed but each time i looked for the waitress, she was hanging by the bar chatting or outside chatting."

"The food at Indian Clove is great. They respect your wishes of spicy or mild and the atmosphere is really nice. The reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. The waitresses and hostesses are great, but for some reason the men who wait tables here are not very good. I have a Y chromosome myself, so it`s nothing against men. I just know when I sit down at the Indian Clove and a waiter comes over to take my order, that I will probably be saving money on the tip. They do have speedy delivery service, though, so it`s easy enough to enjoy at home."
