"Is the food good? I have no idea. I sent the restaurant an email to reserve a table for 20+ guests for an upcoming Birthday Party with 3 weeks notice. After 3 days, when I had not heard from Bomond, I called. I spoke w/ a gentleman at Bomond one aft. He seemed annoyed. I asked him about my email request, and he stated that, "we receive a lot of emails". I then requested the table, and asked a few questions about Buffet packages, etc. He cut me off and said he would get around to emailing me the info I requested. I have still not received any info from Bomond. That was 3 days ago. I have since booked elsewhere."

"George below, way to take a stab at a small business. Sounds to me like slander, rather than an honest review. It makes perfect sense why they would refuse service to an individual like you. You are the perfect example of the kind of person a restaurant wouldn't want as their customer -- not even for New Year's."

"First of all I already wrote one review and they removed it, so I guess was the faith of all other negative reviews, if any of course. So I called the restaurant yeasterday to make a resevation for the new year. I got declined. Why? Apparently they try to make a buck their own way knowing the demand. They refused me because my family is TOO SMALL to be welcomed to celebrate New Years in Bomond. Only 3 people. They only welcome groups of 6 and up. So to enjoy the service we'll have to make three more children or urgently get the parents from Russia. So much to try to have a holiday like at home. I feel discriminated. In 13 years in States I have heard nothing like that before. So I will avoid this place in the future, so will my family and friends. PS, she told me to call in a week or two to see if any unfilled leftover seats would be left, which of course made me feel like a "valued customer" even more."

"Ha to the last review.. Of course it's not restaurant quality food, it's not supposed to be a fast food franchise, All meals here taste homemade, yes just like your mother would make it, delicious and well prepared, using quality ingedients. I guess I must agree with the last reviewer about how the food is, just not sure how anyone in their right mind would say that home style prepared can even be compared to restaurant quality. I would never even dine at a restaurant that uses restaurant quality food, I always look for the nice Italian places where I know the food is cooked fresh and the chef is making it like for their own family, this is what makes this place. with so few russian restaurants, Bomond is a good option, food just the way you expect, price on the menu does seem a bit high, but that is because all apps, salads are served family style for the table, sharing is a must. Your salads for 12 bucks can easily be shared with 4 to 6 people."

"Went with a group of 7 people on a Wednesday evening. We shared several hot appetizers - dumplings, perogies, and blintzes. All were delicious and portions were very generous. We ordered beef stroganoff served with rice or kasha, lamb shank, chicken Kiev, as well as pork cutlet for entrees. Again the food was delicious, fresh, and generously sized. Napoleons, strudel, and apple pie rounded out our meals. We would definately return! Would suggest the servers have more willingness to make suggestions for those unfamiar with this cuisine."

"I decided to give this new spot a try. I've had Russian cuisine before, but what I ate was exceptionally delicious. The service was good and the place had a home-style feel to it. Prices were fair. "This place is the best.The food and the music is good.The waiters are always ready for your command.If you went there you will imagine all cool things happening around you.The dance floor is a good place for the olderly and the young people.If you went there it would be amazing.BEST PLACE EVER AWSOME AND TINGS HAPPEN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The person who wrote the bad comment should be ashamed.It really does not help people uderstand the concept of the wonderful BOMOND."

"This is one of the great Russian places in New York City. The food is incredible and delicious. The atmosphere is pleasant. The waiters are very nice and courteous as are the management. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who enjoys a great Russian cousine with beautiful ambiance. It is perfect for couples, families and others who enjoy Russian and/or European food."
