"For more than 15 years this was our go-to restaurant. Besides occasional dinners and lunches, we've had numerous celebration dinners for anywhere from 12 to 40 or 50 people. Obviously, since we kept returning we were pleased with the food and service. That is, until the last few years. We noticed that some dishes just weren't as good as usual and put it down to an 'off' day. Last year we spent about $900 on a dinner for 16 people and it was not very good. My paella had no taste I've had their paella often in the past, the coffee wasn't drinkable as the 16 mostly full cups left on the table showed. Other dishes ordered were so-so. Service was okay and the sangria was fine, but it was a rather expensive disappointment and the very last time we were there."

"This is another one of our frequent flyer restaurants. We love it, we love the sangria, we love the potatoes and the spicy bean dip with chips is great with the frozen Margaritas. All entrees are delish and freshly prepared. Our favorite? Steak ala Candela, a flavorful skirt steak with onions and spanish cheese. Not for the diet conscious mind you but really, the taste is so good. It's worth the diet that immediately follows."

"The food, service, atmosphere is five stars at la candela. Came here for a birthday last Saturday, the place was very busy, after a short wait we were brought to the second dining room which is absolutely beautiful, very comfortable seating. The table had Spanish style chips and some unique dip which was a great snack while waiting for our appetizers. We ordered the sangria which was up amazing. Calamari for appetizers tasted really fresh, large rings were tasty. Everyone ordered different entrees which are all. Aserved with Spanish rice and potatoes. The sauce for my lobster tail and shrimp was deliciously spicey. I tried a piece of the broiled fish and will probably order that next time. Surprisingly for how busy this restaurant was, the service was always top notch. Just the perfect amount of wait in between appetizers to leave room for great conversating. Other dishes our table tried was the paella, a surprisingly amount of seafood lingered in a plate with just the right amount of rice. Will be back someday soon."

"The food at this restaurant is fantastic. We have tried a huge variety of everything on the menu from main entree's to the Mexican specialties and have only positive things to say about all. From the Mexican Specialties the Enchiladas are 'Simple' homemade without a bunch of cheese smothered, yet somehow taste so good, it may be the sauce The Ribs are one of the best we have had in a long time, cooked perfectly and served in some sort of wonderful sauce. I guess maybe it really is "in the sauce". Paella Marinara is loaded with seafood and again it's one of those dishes that have that home feeling of not being overly salty, served just right. Most importantly all of the food seems to come with Potatoes, Rice, Bread, Salad, Beans. Making a great value overall. It's a neighborhood classic."
