Classic Pizza, a family-owned pizzeria located on Richmond Road in the Richmond Town neighborhood, has closed after serving the community for 36 years.
The Rocchio family, who operated the pizzeria since its opening, marked the occasion with a 'Grand Closing' event over Father’s Day weekend in 2025. The event gave regular customers and local residents an opportunity to come together and remember decades of shared meals and memories.
Throughout its years in business, Classic Pizza became a fixture for families and longtime Staten Islanders. The menu featured traditional New York–style slices, strombolis, chicken rolls, and pasta dinners. Fair prices and consistent quality helped the shop earn a loyal customer base.
For many in the neighborhood, Classic Pizza was a dependable spot for a quick meal or a family dinner. Customers often returned for the familiar flavors and straightforward service.
With its closing, Classic Pizza leaves behind a legacy of community connection and steady support from local residents. The Rocchio family expressed gratitude to everyone who visited over the years and made the pizzeria a part of their routines.
