"This place is definitely worth checking out. Everything we ordered was delicious--my partner is Lebanese and said the middle eastern dishes tasted like the kind her mom made. We just ordered several appetizers the football appetizer things, and fire calamari. They all hit the spot. The cocktails as requested were strong and quite good. For some unknown reason, they offered us baklava free--which is exactly what we were going to order anyway--and it was excellent. The service was over the top. I was a little hesitant to go to this restaurant after reading the other reviews, but there was nothing pretentious about the place. The waitstaff seemed genuinely nice and we did not walk in lookingacting like we were made of money. We felt very well taken care of and will definitely be back. We were there around 7 on a Friday night--the belly dancing was scheduled to start at 930 and the music at 10. During our dinner, the background music was normal, not loud. But the volume was starting to increase after 9."

"We love Desert Rose! The food is always delicious and they have great apps for kids and adults. The atmosphere cannot be found anywhere else on Staten Island. It's a shame some some of the bad reviews seem to be from disgruntled employees, because everyone I know loves it ! Try for yourself !"

"Food is disgusting .we had the mediterranean sampler . The hummus was horrible . Falafel was burned, our entree had no flavor, it took a long time for our food . I do not recommend this place . Staff is not friendly . Such a disappointment Waste of money"

"I don't know how the food is, but I must tell you your digital sign outside the restaurant doesn't fit "glass wine" on the same line. So you should get that fixed or else people are gonna think you guys have "Ass Wine"."

"This place has it almost right. First the good, ambiance is great, service is fast and consistent. Food is tasty. However, the bad news is that there just isn't enough Mediterranean food on the menu. So one ends up ordering a wrap or a burger, when what we really wanted was some authentic Mediterranean food. Portions on the American items are fine, but portions on the Mediterranean items are small to medium. I think the restaurant may be afraid to add more authentic ethnic dishes to the menu, but that is just what is wanted. It seems like a menu afraid to make a leap. I hope they can turn things around to make it work. Hookah also would be a big plus."
