    Okay, i have been to this restaurant only a handful of times, and, to be perfectly frank, i really did not want to like it. I was sincerely hoping the food was terrible. Lo and Behold, i was dead wrong. The restaurant served big saervings of food that i was seriously unable to eat due to their massive sizes.

    Portobello is a neighborhood restaurant that I have been to many, many times with both family and friends. I have found this restaurant consistently excellent while very affordable. This place truly deserves the 5 star rating!

    The food, portions, service and prices are great! My only complaints are the horrible music teeny bopper music and the lighting is so dim its very hard to read the menu and see what you are eating.

    We went here because my wife and some of her colleagues said it was a wonderful experience. Yesterday we went back with my family and the experience was anything but wonderful. To start out with we were greeted by some surly individual whose only words to us were "how many?" No "welcome to Portobello" or any other friendly gesture. Once we were seated the sound of screaming children was enough to want to make me leave immediately. By the time the waiter came to take our drink order the attitude continued. We don't drink alchohol and were made to feel second class. When the waiter returned to take our food order there was no mention that everything is a la carte. No salad, nothing. I ordered the Calamari Fra Diavolo and asked if the calamari was fried. A curt 'no' was the answer. No mention of how it was prepared. Just the entree and a basket of stale, lousy bread with diner quality melted butter. To his credit he did stop by once to ask if everything was OK. Three of them said the food was good. Mine sucked. The sauce was too heavy and the pasta was overcooked. The bill for three pasta dishes, one chicken dish, one desert and a diet coke was $107 dollars not including tip. We had gone there to mainly see about booking a party for my mother in law's 85th birthday. I think I'll be looking elsewhere.

    Delicious !!!!! The food is great for the price. I went there with other couples and we had the 2 for $75 combo, which includes an appetizer, main course, dessert, coffee/tea/cappacino and a bottle of their house wine. Their food is very good and it comes out piping hot. The attention of the staff is very personal and the attention of detail is very good. I've been here before (actually its my 5th time) and never did we leave and have a bad meal. This is why I wanted to leave my opinion. We've been here for the 2 for 1 price specials (Monday to Thursday/cash only), the 2 for $75 specials and the regular menus. But let me tell you, I will never order from the regular menu again because we love the $75 deal. The $75 menu has a big selection and everything we like is on that one, plus you get the bottle of wine and desserts and coffee etc. Its a great deal and they don't skimp on their portions. Their portions are very generous (some places skimp when it comes to specials, but not here). If you were thinking of trying Portobello's, definitely give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

    I have been eating here for the past 6 years and it is always consistant.
    The food, service, and atmosphere are as perfect as it can get.
    If all that isn't enough, Monday - Thursday's you can BOGO on Entree's from a wonderful array of choices.
    Can't beat it!

    Great food, cheap prices, but there are no baseball caps allowed in the restaurant, so make sure you men do your hair before you come to this place. I found this a bit annoying.
