"If you like white meat chicken then don’t order the chicken here. All chicken dishes are a mix of white and dark meat. Sorry not for me. Never again. Black beans and rice are good however but main dishes were disappointing and not worth the price paid."

"Our first order of the highly anticipated Sophia's. The delivery was timely but our steak was over cooked well-done instead of rare and the mussels broth was spilt all over the bag. The rest of our order was delicious."

"Sofia's is such a perfect addition to South Shore Staten Island. It's a true missing cuisine, authentic American / Mexican restaurant serving unique cuisine. Sofia's is not a traditional Mexican or Tex Mex restaurant. It's cuisine is it's own and they make it perfect. Everything is good, the atmosphere is casual. We didn't dine inside yet as they are not open (for indoor dining), but we did pick up food and checked out the environment. Very welcoming, and they should open the indoors up, even without the bar being ready or approved. Anyways, let me get to the food, exceptional cuisine. I am not a fan of soup, but did end up trying the Chicken Tortilla soup which is offered with the lunch - Simply excellent, very tasty soup with just the right amount of crunch added to make it feel not just like a soup. We have tried the Carne Asada tacos and the Shrimp tacos - both were so very delicious, presented very well, tasted very good, filling but not over stuffed feeling, very satisfyingly to eat on a regular basis. In the next few days, will add a follow up review, as we hope to try the Fajitas (Trio, mix of Steak, Chicken & Shrimp) and possibly some other dishes."
