"This place, what a place...back in the early '70's my friend and I delivered food for them,...run by Mr. Woo, Wu. Before that, my neighborhood friends and I used to get Friday nite Chinese food from them, and man it was good!! and Inexpensive!!!
More recently, there was a guy running the place who said Mr. Wu was his great-uncle, and sold the place to him...and he still made the same food items from the "old days"...for instance Chow Har Kew, which you don't see on Chinese Restaurant menus very much now-a-days...why not...he even had the old Mayling's menu posted on the wall, sort of a nostalgic touch...
Well, Lo and BeHold!, one day the place changes it's name to Emperor's House...the old menu display is gone, they don't know how to make Chow Har Kew, etc...what a damn shame, another piece of Staten Island food history gone down the tubes...."
