"I entered this coffee shop with two Senior friends. They both sat down in the waiting area and I stood at the front to wait for a table. The first waitress walked briskly by me making eye contact and quickly looked away. The second waitress did likewise. When the second waitress briskly walked by me again, I got her attention and and asked for a table. She said, "How many, yes, just a moment." Then she went back into another table and took their order, completely ignoring me. She walked by me, seeing me waiting there and went over to put in the order. Next she walked back into the seating area to talk to people at another area. Finally I got her attention again and asked her for a table, she said, "Are they with you?", pointing to my two white friends. I said yes and she quickly gave me menus and said "You can take any table you want." When she took our order she ignored me, I had to get her attention to give her my order. I ordered the Same thing as one of my friends. When she brought the orders, one of them was seriously overcooked. She gave me that one. It was so badly overcooked that my friend offered to give me a part of hers. Instead, I called the waitress, Gabriella, and showed her my food and my friends agreed it was un-eatable. Gabriella brought me another order and then as if embarrassed, because of my friends' concern, began to be very attentive and amiable. You will probably not get many reviews like this because perhaps not many African-American Seniors )I am female) frequent that restaurant. I say it is a shame that in 2022 in NYC that this kind of attitude prevails. I wanted to remind Gabriella that she is also a minority. As for the first waitress that ignored me in the very beginning, there was a time when her ethnic group was slighted also. Signed, A Ruined Afternoon."

"I went into the coffee shop before my husband did since he was parking the car. A server told me to sit anywhere. After I sat down, another server told me I could not sit since the other member of my party had not arrived. I explained that I had been told to sit anywhere and that my husband would arrive in a few moments. She responded that the policy was stated on a sign in the front and I could not sit until my husband arrived . I did not see this sign and presumably the other server hadn't seen it either. Seething at this discourteous treatment, I told her I was leaving and walked out, since I did not want to make a scene and ruin breakfast for the other patrons. When I told my husband, he went inside to complain and the rude server denied that she told me to get up. We are both senior citizens and will never return to this place. One star is too much for such rude treatment."

"Went in for lunch and ordered a turkey club, soup, and pancake for my daughters. The food was ok, nothing out of this world but our server was very nice. Then came time to pay and was told it was cash only. Prior to coming here, I looked at their menu online to make sure that it was not cash only and even checked their storefront for cash only signs and saw none. The cashier was quick to tell me that they had an atm in the back. Of course there was nothing I could do except pay the $3 atm fee. I was very upset and felt deceived that nowhere in the diner was there a sign that it was cash only because then I would make sure to either not go there or have gone to my bank and not be forced to pay the $3 fee. The cashier was very matter-of-fact and I just told her that they should post a cash only sign at least on their menu. Needless to say we won't be going back."
