"We have been there many times, before and after the renovation of 2008-2009. It used to be our regular Friday Night after work. Right in our neighborhood. I liked to walk there. No DWI. Still good, but I liked it better before. Family run, the service is very good. The food is very good. Still a good value, but comparitivly speaking, the price to portion ratio has changed a little too much. We will return, but not so often."

"This used to be my FAVORITE sushi place. Liked it better than places in the city - absolutely amazing tasting fresh fish, great service, creative dishes - I loved it. It was more pricey than most other Sushi restaurants on the island, but beyond worth it. Aside from regular trips, my boyfriend and I went there every year for our anniversary.
This year, for our 7th consecutive anniversary trip there, we were very disappointed. Sushi Excellent has apparently undergone a lot of changes. They have a Chinese food menu now. Prices are lowered, but so are the portion sizes and the amazing taste of the fish.
I'm hoping that if people write reviews that show their unhappiness with the changes, the management will consider reversing some of them."

"This is the best place for sushi on SI. The sushi is always fresh and the chef specials are awesome. Sushi with mango, banana, and many different sauces keeps us coming back. The drink menu is vast and the drinks are always great. The service is friendly and attentive. We love Sushi Excellent."

"This place is FANTASTIC! Beautiful interior, great seafood, and decadent desserts. I use that term because when my husband and I went, we ordered the mousse for dessert. It was rich, chocolaty, and delicious! Berries added tart to the richness. Never had caviar before here either. They use it on top of certain sushi. A little pricey, but definitely worth it!"
