"They either ran out of food or the kitchen had a fire!!! We waited a hour to find this out - only after we placed our order. The waitress stated drinks are on her and proceeded to tell us the kitchen was no longer taking food orders. This place lasts 4 months I will be shocked. The manager was a dope and didn’t even come out to apologize. To say they are clueless is the closest they will come to a compliment. Don’t waste your time - let alone your money!!!"

"This place deserves zero stars. I ordered the grilled chicken sanwich on a pretzel roll. It ended up completely inedible. The sandwich is smaller than my fist, and I am small....The chicken was shoe leather, and the bread was stale. The side was potato chips....AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. This place will not survive."

"Total embarrassment. $13 for a few tiny pieces of dry brisket on rye bread with coleslaw. Greasy chips that were barely salted. A couple with their kid walked in at the same time as me and were not approached to be seated until I picked up my take out order approximately 10 minutes. It was not even busy. The person at the front had to leave to go to the kitchen to get my food and then had to leave again to run my credit card in the back. Completely inefficient. I wish them luck but am afraid they need plenty more than that like ensuring CUSTOMER SERVICE. Try again in a year."

"This place is just ok and will be lucky to stay open even a few months. Food was overpriced and the portions were small. The restaurant isn’t anything special and has a small menu. The space is too big for them to stay in business and fill the tables. However the waitress was extremely friendly and the bartender even came over to check on our drinks which was very nice."

"I can't rate the food since we never actually ate. Upon arrival we were told that the wait was 40 minutes. There were eighteen empty tables. Literally EIGHTEEN empty tables. We were standing there as a family of four walked in and was seated no problem. Two more families were turned away after them, again with the 40 minute wait story. I asked for a manager, but was told by a nasty teenage hostess that she was too busy to get him and he was too busy to talk to me. When he finally arrived he did not seem very upset at her for treating potential customers so badly. This restaurant will survive, but only if they bring back Alex. He was the greatest. We miss Desert Rose."

"I excitedly went with my husband to Smoke 'n Brews one night, being that there aren't many barbecue restaurants on Staten Island. And, boy, were the both of us horribly disappointed. The moment we walked in, the young man behind the front desk was making a personal phone call on his cell-phone and completely ignored us. Luckily, a young lady came to seat us. When our waitress arrived, she asked us what we wanted to drink and we just asked for water. Waiting for her to come with our order, we looked at the menu which looked nice, but, I hate to say it, we never even got the opportunity to try the food. We waited half an hour 30 minutes for WATER. We never even got that! The people who came in after us got their beverages before us while we sat and waited like jerks. Our waitress walked by and acknowledged us with only saying a mere "Hello" and then walked away to serve someone else. Finally, we waited five more minutes and left. I can understand the delay for food and beverages on a night that is busy for staff but the place wasn't even that crowded. If you want barbecue, I recommend you go to Jersey to Famous Daves or just anywhere else but here. It was a terrible experience and I am certainly never going back."

"Decided to give this place a try last night. We were a party of 4 and all of our dinners were COLD. Nothing was done for us and several other customers sitting around us were complaining about the same thing. $130 was our bill for 4 gross pulled pork platters and a small pitcher of sangria. We won't be back ever."

"I would give a 0 rating if I could. Waited 2 hours for cold over cooked food. Don't waste your time or money. This place has great potential with a good location. But obviously by the reviews ,the management team and chef needs to be fired and start over from scratch."

"The 2 times I was there was impressive, but booked a party for my wife's birthday on 1/27/18 and it was a complete bust! I knew something was wrong when people were walking out mumbling "they won't see me again ". We left immediately after the manager said they didn't get a delivery and only had limited amount of brisket and ribs left. How do you not have your signature dishes? I passed by there yesterday and noticed that the sign is off the building and I assume that are no longer in business!"
