"Our first time visint g Sabor, and we will be back, it was my nephews bitthday, half of us Ordered the endless meats, the chimichurri Then we asked if they had chicken hearts or skirt steak because they weren't part of the rodizzio menu and they brought it out to us.
Sweet plantains , cheese bread are delicious.
salad bar has a little of everything. We also had sangria and that was the best sangria."

"We had not been to this establishment before, and must admit we probably will not go back. Cold food, wait staff seemed confused, mixed up orders then raw meat on the correct order. We, my friends and I have been all over the Island for dinner and always want to experience the foods that Staten Island offers with an open mind. We are not the kind of people who expect perfection, and always try to keep the fact that running a successful restaurant, is absolutely a 24-7 job for the owners and the suport staff. That being said we all agreed that our experience was not one of the best we have had and that is just from the above."

"This restaurant needs to learn from the ones in nj. I rather pay $10 more plus the toll. To the other reviewer who spoke on he salad bar...if you are latin, you do go for the salad not just the meat. The meat had no seasoning so I ate all the cuts with a1 sauce. Honestly, I could've done that at home. we waited almost 30 minutes to start getting our meat. by then our rice and beans were cold. the empanadas were gross, the cheese bread was burned. besides lettuce and beets and macaroni salad there was nothing to choose from at the salad bar. not even fried banana!! how could you not make fried banana at a Brazilian restaurant? I suggest you try Brasilia Grill or Rio Rodizio in nj and compare the difference."

"I came here in mid- August with a few girlfriends, we only get to see each other once in a blue. So we decided to go to the new restaurant in Staten Island. My recommendation is to STAY AWAY for now. Our servers were amazing, while I noticed the dinners near us complaining about their waitress. The food was TERRIBLE. Three out of the five of us ordered the Rodizio All you can eat meat, while me and my friend ordered the Chicken Sabor and the Seafood Combo. The Rodizio was over seasoned, over cooked, and extremely dry. The Chicken Sabor was under cooked and I sent it back, when it came back, the chicken was extremely dry and chewy. After complaining to the Rodizio server about the meat, he offered us a dessert platter on the house. This instantly made our experience better. The desserts, however, were some of the best I have ever eaten!! The bar at Sabor has the best mixologist. She made our drinks just the way we like them. While, the manager didn't have the time to see us. Our waiter, Uri, and the Rodizio server saved our experience at Sabor. We might come back if they fix the kitchen."

"LOVED this place. I havent been to a bistro like this in a while now and this place reminded me why I love meat. Service was outstanding, I was never left hungry, meat was cooked to perfection. Of course, you cannot like every single meat they bring out to you but thats the point of rodizio and trying it all out.
Bar wasnt that bad. The mixed drinks were good but they felt more to be a virgin drink then anything. I know its not a place to get drunk but you want to have that nice soothing drink while eating."

2nd - if you think this is someone's idea of a Brazilian restaurant and is not - IS ANYONE'S RESTAURANT SOMEONE'S IDEA
3rd - Better and cheaper in NJ THEY'VE BEEN IN BUSINESS THERE FOR DECADES AND YOU ALSO HAVE TO PAY TOLLS AND HAVE GAS EXPENSES TO GET THERE SO DON'T COMPARE THE PRICES.
4th - Shocked at the final bill - DIDN'T YOU LOOK AT THE MENU, THE PRICES ARE RIGHT THERE
What you have in Sabor is a good restaurant. OK, the salad bar is skimpy, but let's face it, we're not here for the salad. The wait staff was extremely attentive, but not overly intrusive. The Rodizio - their main attraction - is plentiful and extremely tasty. If you've had enough, just tell them to stop - and they'll continue to try to give you more.
I suggest you try this place for yourself and decide - don't listen to reviews including mine - or the people who give thumbs up - or thumbs down. If you like it - and I did - go back. If you didn't, don't go back."

Here is a simple example as to why, the "bashers" don't have them a chance to exist and stabilize. More constructive reviews would be better for the community instead of just yelling "the meat sucks". "Just left there and I am glad that we didn't listen to the ridiculous reviews we read here before deciding to go. The food the rodizio specifically was GOOD. It was served hot right out of the kitchen, was plentiful, tasty and of a good quality. The staff was great and even my 16 year old son who the staff sung happy birthday to over complimentary desert commented that he liked the place because the servers seemed happy to help. No it is not Plataforma in midtown yes I have been there, but no other place is, but it is good and much less expensive. recommend it and will be back."
