"When I saw that there was a new Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Rainbow, on the east side of Staten Island in New Dorp I was anxious to try it. I and some other folks with whom I work have ordered from here several times now. The menu is not huge, but there is a more than ample variety in various categories.. Also, Pho Rainbow is unique on Staten Island in offering a selection of Bahn MI, or Vietnamese style sandwiches. They are delicious, different and a must try. The signature dish in Vietnamese restaurants is the pho, a hearty beef based soup with rice noodles and various combinations of meat. The pho offered here is very good. Be aware, though, that if you are ordering the pho for takeout or delivery you're going to get a pho "kit", with a large container of broth and the noodles, meats, etc. packaged separately. Have a large bowl in which to combine the ingredients at the ready at home and you will have a delicious and very satisfying meal. We've also tried some of the "bun" dishes, which are not actually buns but rather a plate of vermicelli rice noodles accompanied by meat and/or very tasty spring rolls and garnished with a flavorful crushed peanut sauce. The grilled beef and the grilled chicken bun dishes served with a splash of the included Vietnamese fish sauce were just delicious with a nice firm texture to the noodles. Also, as mentioned above, both the sate beef and the curry chicken Bahn MI were outstanding. The menu also lists a large selection of interesting sounding Vietnamese beverages, but we've not yet tried those. A big plus for this restaurant is that they deliver. When calling in an order the staff on the phone have been extremely pleasant and helpful, as was the delivery person. Delivery on two different Saturday evenings was extremely quick. If you want to try something besides the usual Chinese or "Asian" food, something that is light, full of flavor and not swimming in sauce, then I strongly urge you to try Pho Rainbow."

"Vietnamese is one type of cuisine I have never gotten into, and not because I didn't like it, just haven't passed many vietnamese restaurants in my time. I have had take out Bun Bo Xio Sauteed Beef over Rice Noodles from a few places over the years so I decided to try it at Pho Rainbow. The beef was sauteed perfectly and had amazing flavor. When combined with the noodles, greens, peanuts and sauce, perfection. Almost went back to try something else for dinner. I will definitely be frequenting this place. So cheap as well. $7.50 for a great portion that kept me filled up all day obviously noodles are very filling no matter what Keep up the great work. I will definitely spread the word and be back soon."

"This place is amazing - So clean and consistent. I get lunch here at least once a week, usually more. The banh mi sandwiches are the best lunch deal to be had on the island. I usually get the grilled chicken or grilled sliced pork versions. For $5.25 you get a hulking 6 inch baguette, perfectly fresh, stuffed to the brim with delicious marinated meats, a cucumber wedge, shredded carrot, and cilantro sriracha on the side - necessary for complete intoxicating effect, but quite delicious without it. They leave me completely full and content, with just a little bit of guilt for the low price - but that's what keeps me coming back again and again. The Vietnamese spring rolls are also great, and unique compared to others I've tried in Manhattan restaurants. I haven't had a chance to explore much more of the menu yet, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I hope Pho Rainbow is around for a long time. It's an unsung neighborhood treasure."

"Grand opening service WAS great.....but if you're spending between $60-$70 per visit for 3 people....I expect to be able to have a large table instead of a sitting for 4......"
