"Duck ramen should be renamed to duck fat ramen under the udon soups. No meat just skin and fat in a tasteless broth with some noodles and barely any vegetables, had to throw it away not because I am on a diet but just it was really horrible."

"This is a legit ramen spot in Staten Island. Savory, fatty, very good quality noodles. I had the pork buns and their Hato Braised Pork Ramen. I am a huge fan of tonkotsu pork bone ramen and it was the same quality of well known Manhattan and Brooklyn ramen spots. Both the ramen and pork buns came with a large portion of pork."

"This is a real authentic review of hato, one of the newer restaurants in dongan hills. The restaurant clearly tries to be a ramen spot such as one you find in the city for lunch. It fails at that as the ramen and udon they serve is available at nearly every Japanese and Chinese restaurant on the island and most of them do it better. Go down to hylan blvd and you have 3 Chinese places that make better soup. Sushi is next in line and hato uses a very expensive pricing compared to neighbor restaurants, go east, west or south from hato and each of those restaurants serve the same quality sushi at about half the price. Reviews is next on the list. I would have rated hato 3 stars, another option when you want a change from the norm but the reviews they have on social networks such as yelp and facebook are misleading. I am not sure if they are forcing or offering something for free in store if you write a review the way many fake reviewed restaurants do or if they are hired. But this restaurant has 20 yelp reviews more in the 2 months they are open than the restaurant opened for 20 years just down the street, if that's not suspicions Then I don't know what is. Anyways my suggestion is to improve the quality of your food and lower the prices to meet Staten Island demands and we very well may become a regular customer not just a passerby looking for a change every 6 months"

"The ramen is as authentic as any other restaurant on Staten Island the noodles are ramen the broth is just broth real ramen is just like the pho soup takes hours to create, they clearly don't. It's not bad but it's not any better than anyone else. However all the other stuff is overpriced including the ramen or udon soup as well as sushi and bento boxes, I guess the location is so convenient where they are able to get away with it, no parking lot, no valet, barely any street parking but I guess that's how it is."
