"Applebee's might be the saddest place on earth. You don't go there seeking nutrition. You don't go there seeking good times. You usually find yourself there and ask, "Why the hell did I come to Applebee's?" The mere thought of eating at Applebee's would give Escoffier diarrhea. Applebee's is to fine dining what the Yugo was to exotic sportscars. Applebee's is to health what Fukishima is to the environment. Let's examine a typical meal at Applebee's: You sit down. The college dropout of a server hands you a menu and immediately asks you if you'd like an alcoholic beverage, almost informing you that you will need to be drunk to drown out the sounds of crying babies and the next generation of Mob Wives yelling at each other. You order an appetizer with a fun name like "Chicken Fiesta Shingles." You might get their patented "Riblets" for dinner. I invite you to research "Riblets" and determine what part of the pig it comes from. As your food comes, you devour it post haste. Not because you enjoy it, mostly because you want this to be over. Eventually, you're cheery yet dimwitted waitstaff member pops over and asks if you'd like to wash down those 4000 calories with a brownie covered in brown colored simple syrup with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream-type-food-product. You SHOULD decline, but you don't. You've lost all self respect, you're in Applebee's for Christ's sake. You eat your brownie and pay your bill. We need to stop this cycle."

"hi went to this restaurant last evening [11/21/11 horrible experience server smelled like smoke food overcooked and cursing at the bar while people where watching the football game. asked server to ask manager to come over and after waiting 10 minutes or so the server said the manager was busy and would be right over when she was done. well after being there almost and hour no one came over."
