I think that Forest Thai went through a change of ownership. They started off very good. High quality thai food. It was like eating in the city. But it has gone down to just ok. I hope they start listening to some of the issues and get better soon.

Don't order from this place on weekends. Many times this happened now, how their phone lines aren't working properly, as the business said.
I was held on hold for 7 minutes and they hung up on me. I called again with no one answering and the third someone finally picked up.
They said 45 mins for the food to be delivered. I waited over an hour, and I called them asking where my order was. Apparently, they "forgot". Perhaps they are very busy at the restaurant, but still that is not a way to treat a customer that has been going to this place for a long time.
If you want Thai on Staten Island, I recommend going to Talay Thai instead.

| Like: Food was good, then it started to become watered down. |
| Dislike: Their service is becoming worse and worse. |

My wife and I have eaten here twice. The first time, we had a shrimp appetizer (I can`t remember the name). It seemed to be fake shrimp- a seafood-like substance formed into the shape of a shrimp that tasted strange. The rest of the meal was OK, but that appetizer left us a little unenthusiastic. About a year later, we decided to give it another try. The food was good. It helped that we avoided the shrimp appetizer. We tried to order drinks from the wine and beer list on the table, but were told they had no liquor license. I wish they wouldn`t put out a menu of interesting looking Thai beers if they can`t serve them. I will probably make a third trip here, but it will be a while in the future.

I was very disappointed the last time my fiance and I were there. The curry was totally lacked of spices and coconut flavor and way way too salty. I got so angry at us for return to this place six months later to watch my fiance choked up at every bite and kept asking for water. The last time we were there the dish my fiance ordered was way too sweet that he couldn`t eat it, so I made a sacrifice to trade his dish for my so so padthai. I am desperate for Thai & Vietnamese restaurants because I live in Staten Island but not that desperate. I told myself from now on doesn`t matter how tired I am, I would whip up some curry whenever we are craving for Thai food instead of coming here wishing it miracle gotten a whole lot better. Although the positive point is the ambient is decent and the service is nice. But good meal brings good conversation, not cheap and low class type of food
