I've eaten at cafe Luna many times prompting me to have my child's Christening there. After the party ( of 40 family members) I realized I left my bag on the table. I literally walked back in two seconds later and realized by the time I got home Two envelopes were missing (stolen). When I called to ask of they were found they put me on hold and never got back on the line. The worst part was on top the added in gratuity I tipped each waiter extra! Only to realize $300 was stolen from my child. I will never step foot back in there. Their staff acts as if they are doing you a favor by serving you. My advice hold onto your wallets when you go in there.

Skip it.
We went for lunch. The place is warmly cold(you will understand when you sit down and look at the atmosphere). The food left a lot to be desired. I had the chicken parmigiana and received literally a slice of paper thin chicken with cheese and sauce. It had no texture or anything to it. The spaghetti tasted like they poured it from the package into the boiling water for around a minute and then threw sauce on it and plated it.(I like al dente but this was out of the box hard).
My lady friend ordered the Fried Calamari and it was verrrrry fishy and the breading was barely on it. Her Eggplant Rollatini had a weird taste as well. I'm not sure whats going on there but the food needs a lot of work.

I went here on 7/30/11 around 8:30 pm. We ordered baked clams (ok) then our main dishes. The orders taken by the Mexicans, apparently were lost in translation by the time it got to the kitchen. I ordered broiled fish, I got boiled fish. I ordered chocolate mousse, I got an ice-cream parfait. My husband ordered chicken without mozz, he got it with mozz. Are you kidding me?
I had to drive to Staten Island to get this kind of service? No thnks, I'll stay in Bklyn.
Mexicans belong in the kitchen, prepping, cleaning and maybe bringing out the completed orders to the table. They don't belong in an Italian restaurant, trying to take orders. Do me a favor "Cafe Luna" - spend another dollar or two an hr. and hire some more white people to serve the white customers.
If I want mexicans to serve me - I will go to a mexican restaurant.

| Dislike: Mexicans with limited English should not be the servers. |

I went to Cafe Luna with my wife and three other couples during a heavy rain storm on a Saturday night. The food was not very memorable (the veal special was over cooked), but we weren't rushed. We we left alone to linger over coffee and talk. However, their attitude when we were leaving certified that I would never return. As I wrote it was raining and I came in with an umbrella. When I went to the bar before being seated, I was told by one of the waiters that there was a place to store the umbrella so it wouldn't leave a trail of water through the dining area. I was reluctant to leave the umbrella near the door, but was assured the umbrella would be there at the end of the evening. Needless to say it was gone. The staff seemed to find it amusing and the manager offered nothing in the way of compensation ( not so much as a coupon for a desert when I returned ). I will never go back, nor will I recommend the place to anyone I know, or anyone who is reading this review.
