"I don't understand how this place is called a tavern. They DON"T serve alcohol. We went there two weeks ago and ordered several different drinks to be told oh we don't have that ,finally we asked what do they have and was then lectured on how because they are so close to a religious building they can't serve alcohol except for beer and wine. We were the only people in this bright lit restaurant and the food was nothing more than O.K. with high prices. It was like a coffee shop with diner food that was sub par with a pool table. Besides all the hired help Cook and waitress spent most of the time smoking outside"

"I was very taken back with this place, the food was really really good. I started off with a special of Leek and Potato soup and could have easily had seconds or thirds, it was that good. Their Turkey Remixturkey, cranberry and stuffing on a roll. It was so tasty and the steak fries were perfect. Their vodka pizza was better than some pizzerias on the island. The service was also great, Michele, our waitress was very nice and accommodating. We will be back"

"Last week we walked into the Tottenville tavern and were pleasantly suprised. there were 4 of us and we tast tested each others dishes like we were at a taste testing contest.Each dish was better than the other. The Cheese Burger was cooked to perfection we fought over that ,Fish and Chips were crispy but not greasy and the Homemade chips and dip were gone in a flash. It was a unexpected nice night, ok atmosphere,good music in the background and really not expensive at all. Bravo to the Owner and Chef, you've got a good thing there....Keep it up !!"
