"R u kidding me he charges $ 19 for a regular pie. I have lived down the block for 16 years now . I was here when the pizzaria was called amicis pizza and when the pizzaria was called goodfellas . I was there when it was called roma delight pizza which by the way if not for super storm sandy would still be there charging a weekday special of $14 for 2 pies and a salad. I have also been here for 1 other pizzaria in that location.i forget the name but it was there quite a while Its a tough spot for a pizzaria that will have audacity to charge $19 for a pie made of flour, cheese and sauce yes $19!! . Sorry to Sal for wasting his own time and money i could have told him that his pizza is not that good and i cant see people going there to be ripped off like that ."

"No pun intended for previous review, but maybe that is the reason the other guys failed? but yea 19 dollars seems awfully a lot even though Sals serves one of the best pies we have tasted, 19 for a plain pie would be over the top - Get the menu up please!"

"Had the clam pie and the fried calamari pie. Both were really good. A worthy restaurant on an Island of great pizza. No cheap ingredients here."

"I went to Sal's last night with my partner. Wow, his food does not disappoint. I woke up today craving the leftovers We ordered the eggplant rollatini as an appetizer. It was PHENOMENAL. It was perfect- the eggplant, the ricotta, the homemade fresh mozzarella....perfect thinnly sliced, battered and without breadcrumbs. This dish was served with a side house salad and side of pasta. Both were very good. Wanting to try everything on the menu, my partner and I decided to try a pizza so we ordered a small Margherita. I forgot how good his pizza is! It is easily the best on the island. He uses quality ingredients and fresh ingredients. He has a passion for cooking. His years of experience and knowledge come through every dish he prepares. I appreciate his passion for oldschool Italian cooking."

"Tried delivery for first time, mostly due to the rave reviews. maybe the reviews are coming from people eating on site, because I sure had a different experience. For starters, my order of 6 rice balls was short by one, weird, but that's OK. Stuff happens. Let's talk pizza. I ordered the upside down Sicilian- at $18 a pie, I expected 12 slices but got 8- and with the top of the box pushed down into the pie. But that's OK, stuff happens. What I wasn't OK with was a burnt edge all around and soggy under-cooked crust. Horrible. Could not finish the slice I started. Perhaps the oven was not up to temperature to cook the underside. No one else would touch the Sicilian. The large round pie I ordered, and asked for a well done finish, was under-cooked. When I called soon after receiving the shorted order, they offered to send me the missing rice ball. I added a small pie to the order since the Sicilian was only 8 slices. The small pie I later received was tiny, and again under-cooked. Not a happy first time customer."
