"Jades island was the worst restaurant I've been to. It sucks when the food sucks and you have To Pay your hard earned money. The food wasn't even that Good no flavor what so ever!! The piña colada tasted like canned pineapple juice and the service was horrible!! I will never come back to this place! I would not recommend this place to any body. They will treat you so poorly like they did to me."

"I'm sorry to say that the Jade Island from the eighties that was always the best food on the island is gone. Today Jade Island is old, incredibly overpriced $17 for Butterfly Shrimp.
I cant believe how plain and bland everything is and even the pupu platters are just so outdated and precooked.
$70 bucks for two people left us feeling very disatisfied."

"Look everyone, there's seems to be some misinformation circling about Jade Island. I'm gonna set the record straight
1 They did NOT lose their lease. They are not going the way of Golden's Deli. They are safe and will continue to operate.
2 They are the best tiki bar in NYC outside of Otto's Shrunken Head. Drink the Zombie.
3 With that being said, they are a mediocre-at-best asian restaurant. They're not really a chinese restaurant, not quite a pacific island restaurant, kind of a pan asian restaurant.
With that being said, every few years or so I gather some friends, drink some umbrella drinks and share a bunch of pupu platters cause "Hey, what goes better with people drunk on rum than an open flame""

"The pits! If you like overpriced sub par food with the most MSG on Staten Island this is your place. It's strictly a tiki gimmick and got a B Rating from the health department!"

"I can't believe that this place has 5 star ratings, there is nothing cute or chic about it... It is your standard Chinese restaurant without anything special. The pu pu platter which was the reason I came here, was nothing special or anything to look forward to. The meat is already cooked, the fire is there to heat it up, but the meat is already hot??
There is much better Chinese food all around the island and Jade Island did not cut it one bit, I am not saying it was bad, I am saying it was average."

"The food and service was really, really good. The Tiki drinks i.e., zombie, scorpions, headhunter, etc and pupu platter brought back memories of the days when there were more Hawaiian restaurants around. Atmosphere was really nice and tropical. Only thing missing was the Hawaiian music. The entrance needs to be more inviting otherwise you think it's any old chinese restaurant which it is not."

"Outstanding, cute, chic, makes you feel like you are in the south pacific. All servers wear hawaiian shirts, service is excellent, torches are lit, they sell lottery, food is excellent. Recomend Pu-Pu Platter, Beef Chow Fun. Deserts are great prices are very reasonable. Enjoy!!"

"Went here because of a review I saw on Anthony Bourdain's show, with guest Staten Islander David Johanson. I had this seafood dis, which had chunks of chicken, lobster, squid and veggies in a wonderful sauce, all in an edible noodle bowl... wonderful!! My new favorite place!"

"Re-discovered Jade Island after not eating here for awhile. Yes, the prices are higher but if you're looking for old school Chinese-American the way it used to be done, look no further. Old school Chinese done properly is becoming a rarity on Staten Island, sad to say. This place still hits the mark on dishes like Kung Po Chicken, Butterfly Shrimp, Beef Chow Fun"
