"My boyfriend and I decided to try House of Crabs as we both love seafood and like to check out new places. We should've walked out the second we walked in - it smelled terrible when you talked through the door. The place was empty and the hostess fumbled with menus. The menu was too large and confusing and their feature crabs were not displayed prominently. When the waitress took our order my boyfriend asked her what the best thing on the menu was and she couldn't give him an answer. The bread they brought out wan't fresh. We waited a good 15 minutes for appetizers and the mussles tasted funny. Waited another 15 minutes for our king crab leg entree to come out - what we got was a pot with a mini corn on the cob one potato one piece of sausage and three crabs legs thrown in it. It was the worst food presentation I Have ever seen in a restaurant - the pot was 90% empty. The crabs tasted funny and def. not fresh and the corn - well the corn was one degree away from being pop corn and tasted like it was soaked in a salt brine for a week. This place will never last or get busy enough to keep their seafood fresh. There was a female manager or owner in there just standing to the side the whole time - wearing a lace shirt with just a bra underneath. My boyfriend and I both commented on it immediately the second we walked out. The owners here have no clue what theyre doing and for their sake I hope they don't lose that much money."

"Went to the new, please dont forget that it is a NEW place, and I cant stress enough how hard the whole staff tries to please the customer, they are very friendly, efficient, and polite. The food there is very-very good, especially the Crabs. Tried the Rock crab, it was delicious, have never tasted them before outside this restaurant, and we love crabs, My husband had the steak, and it was very well seasoned, and prepared to perfection. And just to mention that their specialty martini with i think, pineapple juice was unbelivable. Really recomend this place, will definatly come back over and over again. P.S: had a few words with the owner, and he conducted himself in a very proffesional and polite manner"

"FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. THE OWNER IS VERY RUDE. WHILE I WAS IN THERE HE CALLED THE COPS ON SOME GUY FOR REFUSING TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT HIS WIFE DID NOT EAT. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE. THE LOBSTER I ORDERED WAS BLACK INSIDE TOO. THUMBS DOWN."

"heard of this place, thought it sounded cool and there arent many places locally like this. Parked, walked in, sat down. 1st red flag - utensils were not clean. 2nd red flag - one of the cooks, in plain view, with his finger so far up his nose i wonder if he incurred any brain damage. Deal breaker, we got up and left. Decor leaves something to be desired - inside has the feel of a cheap, trashy seafood place in some has-been beach town. I'd reccommend going a little further down Hylan to Joe's if you want this type of food."
