"Not sure how golden's can get away with serving such overpriced, underquality food and still stay in business. I am guessing due to lack of competition. There are much better places on the island that far surpass this restaurant. The only thing that may be good is the unique dining area."

"The food is Hit or Miss at Golden's. the prices are outrageous and its worse when the food is bad. Paying a couple of dollars for a dried out hot dog or potato knish does not make sense. Better off getting some dogs from the supermarket and do it yourself.
But when the food is on point you dont mind paying a little more."

"Golden's has fallen behind the times. The prices are too expensive at $14sandwich. If you order fries & soda it is probably $20person. I think $14 would be ok for the sandwich, fries & soda. The restaurant is in deparate need of a make-over. It always seems to be empty. If they had any brains they would contact one of the Tv shows like Kitchen Nightmares or Restaurant Impossible and get a free make-over and business advice. It is a shame because there are very few kosher deli's left. Growing up in Brooklyn, we had 3 or 4 kosher deli's just in my neighborhood. In Staten Island, Golden's is the only game. I just can't se them being open in the future. If you want good kosher deli, my advice is to go to Harold's in Edison, NJ. Without traffic, it's a 20min drive from Golden's, but it's worth it."

"Unlike some of the other reviews -- we had a great time. We were a group of four. Our food was delicious. I had the Turkey Club and a side of onion rings and it was very good. I then tried the homemade blueberry crumb pie and coffee and that was great. The waitress was very nice, and the service was excellent. We even sat in the subway car to eat. We all plan to return soon."

"I just paid 14 bucks for a terrible sandwich. I have no problem paying above the norm when it's warranted, but I've had better pastrami sandwiches at no-name corner deli's. It was dry, chewy, fatty and much smaller than you will find at comparable Jewish deli's a smaller serving might not have been a bad thing in this situation. NEVER going back."

"I went to eat at Golden's Deli last night with a friend, we ordered appetizers - I ordered stuffed derma - recieved the stuffed derma without the Derma! My friend orded the onion bloom - the nastiest onion bloom I ever ate the middle of the onion was not even cooked and the sauce was ice cold. Then my friend ordered a meat knish - well that kinish was rotten and dried out - the smell was atrocious smelled sour that I asked my friend to remove it from the table and put it somewhere else casue i could not take the smell it was making me sick! we sent that back, then we ordered sandwiches they came - smaller amount of meat then usual on rye not the deli rye bread like we used to get in there - I ordered corned beef so very dried out my friend ordered corned beef and pastrami the same was with his sandwich all dried out we wanted to get up from the table and leave it was that bad but as good people we paid for our meal which we didn't even finish and I had the lady wrap it up to feed to the dogs when I got home - I also asked her for mustard which i never got in my doggie bag! NOW I SPENT 65.00 PLUS A TIP ON THAT HORRIBLE MEAL WHICH I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THAT DIRTY RESTURANT AGAIN AND I SUGGEST THAT OTHER FOLLOW MY ADVISE - THEIR FOOD IS AWEFUL AND RESTURANT LOOKS HORRIBLE AND NOT WORTH THE MONEY - IN THIS ECONOMY IT IS A TREAT TO GO OUT AND EAT FOR $75.00 - IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW THAT IS WAS GOING TO BE SO DISCUSTING I WOULD HAVE WENT TO HAROLD'S OUT IN EDISON TO HAVE GOOD JEWISH DELI FOOD."

"I was there Saturday with a small group and everyone liked their food. I wouldn't have chosen it but was pleasantly surprised. 3 of us got soups, 1 chicken finger platter and 1 stuffed cabbage. The only person who didn't eat their food got a burger. We shared two desserts apple streudel was so-so and a chocolate stick that was good.
Waitress was attentive but seemed to want to get rid of us without ordering dessert."
