"Well, braving all the bad reviews on this page about the restaurant, my husband and I tried it anyway. Pleasantly surprised, I must say. We ordered the potato skins, that have sirloin in them....very good. My husband had a ribeye, which was cooked correctly and had lots of fat on it. Very tasty, and I ordered the strip. Also, cooked correctly. In my opinion, when you order a steak, half the battle is getting a chef who knows the difference between medium well, and dead. My only complaint is that there were only 2 other tables there, and the meal took longer than it should have to come out. Steak doesn't take that long to cook. The waitress was pleasant, and the restaurant itself has a cozy atmosphere. It was a cold night, and they had the fireplaces going. We would definitely go again. Maybe they changed chefs from all the past bad reviews? I don't know, but it has happened before to other restaurants we've been to, that were horrible, only to find out the chefs were changed, and the food was good after that."

"I got takeout here a few months ago, to see what was what. It was a pretty good deal, and the steak was tasty. Looking forward to eating in the restaurant itself."

"We were excited to see this charming restaurant open once again. The shrimp cocktail appetizers were white, limp, stringy, and tasteless. we went at an off hour, and there was only one other table being served, so the kitchen had plenty of time to get things right. The steaks were charred on the outside, not so "medium well" on the inside and no wine list at all. It was a pre-opening so we didn't say anything. Having the chef come to the table to brag about his food, ingrediance and preperation, and linger asking our "honest opinions" was very uncomfortable. We returned after their full opening, and once again, the food was just as bad. I was served a small lobster tail, stringy, with limp vegatables on a plate, no lemon or butter as is usual tradition with lobster tail, when I asked for it, the server seemed surprised and returned 5 minutes later with a cup of melted butter, by then the lobster tail was cold. again my husbands steak was charred outside, very rare inside. Not a place we would revisit again"

"Really good food. Not sure what everyone's complaining about. Porterhousesteak, pork medalions and salad with salmon were delicious as were the appetizers. I would definately suggest eating here."

"Where do I begin....A steak house on Staten Island, Yeah right! Well I was amazed!! This is a truely upscale Steak house, yes, on Staten Island!! Wow.. I went with my wife and 2 friends. The place was cozy and romantic. I had the Ribeye and Mashed potato. OMG, I was unable to finish it. It tasted fantastic. As I was eating my steak and watching my wife who ordered the Salmon over rice, I felt as if I was at Peter Lugars or somewhere in SOHO, but I was right here in Staten Island. The food was absolutely delicious. The Coconut Rum Cake was to die for!!! a must have. The ambience was amazing. The owners really took the time to construct this place. A must visit. Call for reservations in advance and sit next to one of the fireplaces......Thank you guys!!! Good Luck,,see you soon...."

"My husband and I recently went to Prhyme for dinner on Saturday night. We were very disappointed. Although the appetizer was good, the entrees were not. Both meat entrees I had the filet mignon and my husband the new york strip were so char- broiled on the outside that they tasted burnt. The creamed spinach was overpowered with nutmeg and was not worth eating. Even though I realize the staff is still working out the kinks of a new business, the atmosphere was nerve wracking with people running back and forth with no organization."
