"I've been taking home or getting your chicken for at least 20 years now,and on occasion the quality of your chicken,mashed potatoes,and various other food products has been hit or miss.I'm a fan of chicken that's moist and tender and juicy.On occasion my order was delivered with way overdone,dry and tough fried chicken.I have expressedly ordered chicken moist and juicy,but were told on occasion,that "we have to thoroughly cook the chicken".Quite understandable,but you don't have to burn it to death either,and there is a happy medium. I'm very happy to say that my last two orders,especially the one on 3213 was outstanding.It was hot,moist,tender and juicy and delivered in less that 45 minutes.The mashed potatoes,though instantwhich I actually like were also hot and fresh as well as the fish snack.Thanks for listening when I ask for food the way I like it....nicely done.I will continue to be a customer.Prices are reasonable,I just wish you'd offer more discount coupons like the "lucky thirteen" or an online ordering discount of 10%"

"Chicken Holiday has been a staple of Staten Island's take-out market for a LONG time and I FINALLY tried them. They recently offered a Groupon and I said, "Why not." We got a Groupon for $55 worth of food. Here's what we got: - A bucket of dry chicken that tasted burned. It was NOT burned, but it tasted burned. What that means is that they have probably not changed/cleaned their oil in a fortnight. Or they burned something in the oil and kept on cooking. Which would have made sense except we ordered this at around 11:30AM. I dunno, it's just speculation but the chicken was bad. - Mashed potatoes and gravy. The mashed potatoes were good. The gravy was extremely bland. Very flat, no salt. Halfway to brown water. - Mac and cheese. Likewise, VERY bland. To the point where we started questioning if they were watering down the food because of the Groupon. - Corn nuggets. The saving grace of the meal. These were the only hot item everyone agreed they liked. Very well done. - Buffalo wings. They were the "dry" kind of wings. We wanted the wet kind. Not their fault. They were good and spicy. Far better than the regular fried chicken. - Six mini loaves of corn bread. This was VERY good. We all agreed that the corn bread was spot on. So, yeah Chicken Holiday is a chicken joint that, in our opinion, sucks at making chicken-related products. But if you want something corn-related, apparently they're the place to go to. UPDATE: I have not had their ribs. I hear they have good ribs. I cannot comment on that as I have not had them."

"The mashed potatoes are nice and creamy, the corn is sweet, and the carrots are flavorful. Very nice side dishes with good quality and conveniently located. BUT STILL, TWO STARS! That's because the actual CHICKEN was DRY!!"

"Have ordered from them for years. They deliver to us and we are several miles away. Don't know what the other poster was talking about. Their food is good, fresh and they are accomodating when it comes to substitutions especially on large orders."

"Just noticed a last reviewer that posted the place is "FRESH", haha, that is the funniest comment I have seen on this website for the past year. Everything is FROZEN! The chicken is fried, not broiled, it is greasy as well as all other food. The reason for 2 stars is that they do deliver and it usually comes as expected and what you ordered. I would consider giving this place 4 stars if they added a healthy side to their menu, chicken and served it, at least as an option broiled, similar to Boston Market, but for now, especially it being 2011, the 2 stars will perfectly go along with this place. The funniest part about the their slogan is it says "The Health Conscious Chicken Chain" Just look at the first part of the menu, that is another joke and is probably meant to be funny, it's probably the Least Health Conscious Chain, after White Castle of course... I don't mean to go on this crazy rant, but that review that said this place is fresh just forced me to write this review..."

"We were craving for some fried chickens on this hot summer day, and chicken holiday did not disappoint us! This time we ordered the family order again 8 pieces of chicken, french fries, cold slaw plus 12 dinner rolls. Chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The fries was half seasoned and half classic. My first time ordering the dinner rolls, and def goes well with the chicken. I think the price here is reasonable, you just can't compare it to those fast food store. The chicken we had both times were very juicy and flavorful!"

"sadly fried chicken was problematic. too much salt on meat and crust had some extremely hard parts that I was afraid to crack my teeth on! sides were very good. hopefully they can change their cooking method!"
