"Review from "Dimitris' Gyro Joint" - Previous Location of How Greek It Is I have eaten here 3 times since this place opened up a few months ago. I have not been disappointed yet. I highly recommend there specialty, Greek style Shawarma Gyro. I had it for lunch the 1st time I ate here. It was one of the best gyros I ever had Its made with a delicious marinated pork. It was served with a giant serving of rice pilaf. I have since brought my family back twice. They all LOVED it. The food is great,generous portions, and very inexpensive. And the Rizogalo rice pudding was so large we shared with 3 spoons and still didn't finish it! The wait staff is all very nice."

"Ordered from this new gyro place and the food came delicious. Gyros were perfect, had a little crisp to it and was more than a decent size. The sauce contradictory to the previous review, was so flavorful and fresh, just made the sandwich what it was."

"A few nights ago, my girlfriend and I went to How Greek It Is for the very first time. It was a wonderful experience. The customer service was excellent. Dmitri and Sophia the owners were very nice and friendly. Our server was helpful and efficient. We ordered a variety of items spinach pie with Greek salad, the pork and chicken pita gyros, tzatziki sauce and the deep fried spinach pies. They were all prepared well, authentic, and delicious. The tomatoes used in the salad and the gyros were very fresh along with the feta cheese. The filo dough crust on the spinach pie was made just right. Great dining experience. Also, the decor in the restaurant was pleasant. The restaurant was also very clean. We will definitely return to How Greek It Is restaurant and will recommend this place to our friends and colleagues. John P. Gilman"

"Second time here and will definitely be back. I had the Spinach Pie entree which came with a salad,I chose the Greek salad. My friend had the Moussaka and a Greek salad. We had ice tea and were offered a complimentary glass of wine. We had to have take home bags. I have to remember to save room for dessert.. The owner and the wait staff stop by the tables to check on the customers."

"Excellent food and great service. I see that some people criticized the quality of the meat. However, I have eaten here on three occasions and found the gyro and souvlaki to be moist, fresh and well cooked. The side greek salad served with the gyro platter is a meal in itself. I will definitely be coming back. -my dad Friendly, warm atmosphere and fresh food see above makes this no frills place a great stop for Greek food on the island."

"One of the best Staten Island has to offer no votes or reviews needed. Sandwiches off the hook overstuffed deliciousness packed with flavor, platters have value that's unbeatable, salads are crisp fresh and have lots of things going on to keep it tasty. Price for 6 people with plenty of left over is really unbeatable."

"We realized how good this place really is after being forced to order from another place on Easter because this Greek spot was closed. So we ended up getting a similar dish "Mixed Grill Platter" from Ciragan Palace Turkish restaurant nearby, that dish was a disgrace compared to what we are used to from here. Comes with a real full sized salad the Turkish spot was tiny amount of oily lettuce. The rice and pita in the dish was FULL of greasy oil at this spot always dry yet tender meat where you can tell all the fat has burned off during cooking. Rice tender fluffy and the sauce is outstanding. The only suggestion is to give us a warning if your closing a day in advance!!!!"

"I absolutely love this place!! Best place so far for Greek food. Used to go to another place and thought they were ok, now we go here and it's so much better! A lot more food for your money! Biggggg portions! Food is so delicious!! Definitely worth trying out! And they have American food if you weren't crazy about Greek. Ordering now as I speak! Love this place!!"
