Ordered some dinner at work from this place. Placed an order for a southwest sandwhich? The description said Grilled chicken lettuce tomato avocado and chipotle ranch dressing. Sounded delicious. I also ordered a side of fries. The food comes its soggy as anything. They should be called soggys not shaggys. The fries came in a bag so they were all oily and soggy. The sandwhich had grilled chicken lettuce and tomato and chipotle ranch, not one piece of avocado. It was also soggy and I could barely eat it without everything falling out. I also found a piece of steak in it which grossed me out because I dont eat steak. Overall it was pretty terrible and not worth $10.

Philly Cheese Steak was delicious. Bread was perfect. Meat was perfect.
got it with red roasted peppers mmmm good.
Going to buy 50 wings this weekend!!. From what i hear there wings are better than planet wings

DOESENT GET BETTER THAN WATCHING THE JETS BEATING THE DOLPHINS AND MUNCHIN ON A SHAGGY CHEESESTEAK AND SOME GREAT WINGS, I LOVE THE STEAK SANDWICH BUT THE WINGS ARE AWESOME. Ive been going to shaggys since it first opened. The steak is great. Also the wings are great also. I DONT KNOW WHY PEOPLE THINK YOU GET FREE FRIES WITH ANY SANDWICH. I think people get jealous when a new company comes in town and does well. You cant eat dollar slices everyday. i hope shaggys keeps up the great meals they are serving.

Went there twice. First time they had no bread and I waited for over and hour. But they just opened so i didnt mind.
Went there recently and the philly cheesesteak was so thin and VERY spicey. I couldnt even enjoy it. I had tears coming out of my eyes.. plus there not the cheapest and it doesnt even come with fries. Could find better cheesesteaks around the area nothing special about this place.

Not bad but nothing great. Staff was nice, food was OK. One thing I hated was the paper that they wrap the cheesesteaks in. That paper just turns into a slimy cheesy mess that you have to peel off the sandwich, it's totally unnecessary!!!
Also it took a good 15 mins for them to make our fries for some reason.
Also the 9 inch is not that big at all. They need a bigger option than that. They have a HUGE Ultimate steak that's like 5 lbs but they need something between the 9 in & the 5lb'er. Perhaps a 12 inch with 2lbs of meat would be a great option. The 9 inch is just not big at all.
Plus it is a bit pricey. A 9 inch, waffle fries & a large drink was over $16!!!
Still it is a better cheesesteak than you would get at a pizza place but not as god as Geno's in Philly.

Unique and Delicious to Staten Island, it's a great place to have here especially when you want something different late at night. Location is convenient, I love the cheese steaks because they taste fresh, bread is soft, real cheese whiz, it really reminds me of Ginos in Philly. Best on Staten Island for sure, no other place can beat their hoagies.

Wow it's really good, very surprised as I thought it would be one of this imitation hard bread, stale steak places. When I got it with soft bread, late at night, the steak tasted fresh, I really was surprised, especially in the neighborhood where all we have that's open late is white castle and gogo's.

WENT HERE AFTER BAR HOPING AT 3AM ON SATURDAY. THE PLACE WAS GREAT. WE HAD AWESOME CHEESESTEAKS AND WINGS. THE LADIES HAD PULLED PORK AND CHEESE CAKE BITES. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST PLACE ON STATEN ISLAND. YOU WANT A GREAT MEAL GO HERE. THER E OPEN TILL 4 AM ON THE WEEKENDS. ASO HAVE BREAKFAST SANDWICHES STARTING AT 7AM THE CASHIER WAS GREAT WE DIDNT LEAVE HER ALONE .

Really great Cheesesteaks and food, love the fact that they stay open so late during the weekends, till 4am is just perfect stop by on your drive home, forget A&W/Souvlaki Express, this is a much better stop by, you'll love the food also.

This place is open till 4 am on the weekends. We strolled in at 3 am and it was crowded. The steak sandwich was great and the wings were awesome. a great looking crowd also dosent hurt.

I was hearing such good things about shaggys cheesesteaks i had to try it. The place was very clean and the staff was nice. i tryed the steak italiano . IT WAS GREAT. I also had there homemade onion rings which were good. great place.

Very good cheese steaks. Of course it's still not philly, I think the reason is the drive to philly for some cheese steaks and the wait to get there just gives it that much more prestige. But for Staten Island Shaggy's is great, and they also offer delivery.

I wasnt sure to try this place after the review saId over priced. So i took a chance and tryed it. IM SO GLAD I ATE HERE. The steak was great.The wings were out of this world. THEY HAVE HOMEMADE ONOIN RINGS AND THEY SELL BOYLAN SODA OUT OF THE FOUNTIAN. THE BLACK CHERRY IS AWESOME.First the steak sandwich i had was huge and its real ribeye meat. not the steakum kind you get at planet wings. I paid 7.75 for this sandwich.well wort it. THE WINGS ARE 9.95 FOR 10 BUT THEY ARE SO BIG. the jumbo kind and so juicy. THER ARE TRIPLE THE SIZE OF PLANET WINGS. Im not trying to bash planet wings but im so glad i dont have to eat there any more and get ghetto food for a real expensive price. SHAGGYS GIVES YOU REAL QUIALTY FOOD FOR A GOOD PRICE.Lishen you get what you pay for. If you want real good fresh food at a distance price you run not walk over to shaggys and I bet you you have found paradise. i just hope they open more stores on the island.

We were at comedy for a cure last night at uncle vinnys comedy club. THE SHOW WAS GREAT but the FOOD WAS EVEN BETTER. SHAGGYS ORIGINAL CHEESESTEAKS WAS GIVING OT THESES AMAIZING SANDWICHES THAT WERE DELISH. I had the staten italy which had muzzerella and roasted peppers. they had italian hotdogs pulled pork roast pork italiano btisket with eggs chicen parm roast beef and like 5 other different cheesesteaks. i cant thank them enough for there geroristy and there great food . iF U WANT GREAT FOOD PLUS GREAT SERVICE GO TO SHAGGYS ORIGINAL CHEESESTEKS YOU BE DISSAPOINTED.

The steak is great here. i had the 9 inch .They pile on the meat i could not ginish the whole thing. My boyfriend had the brisket. He loved it. My favorite place to eat late. They also have boylan fountian soda first time i ever saw this.

wow i mean double wow. This place rocks. Steak was juicy and filling. I also tryed there pizza fries awesome. This place is better than philly ..Shaggys steaks is the new king around town. The staff was very nice which is a plus. ILL BE BACK

Had an excellent cheese steak here the other day, 6" was perfect, the bread was soft and it had plenty of meat and cheese. Be sure to ask for some cherry peppers to add some spiciness to the sandwich.

Ordered here for my super bowl party. I had the wings. They were great. The wings were not only tasty but they were huge and krispy. Blows away planet wings by a mile. IF YOU LIKE WINGS THIS IS THE BEST PLACE ON STATEN ISLAND. Dint try the cheesesteak yet but i cant wait.

Not bad for a NY cheesesteak. I'm originally from Philly and they still don't come close to an authentic Philly cheesesteak like they say. The rolls aren't the typical rolls we use and the meat isn't cut thin enough. Overall though, not a bad sandwich.

Simply put, this place rocks. So you might have to wait a few minutes for them to cook your order....big deal. The food more than makes up for it and well worth the wait. I am glad I found this place.

Ok I Went in wanting a cheesesteak and my girl had the 1/2 pound burger. T he cheesesteak was exellent but the burger was the best burger she ever had. The bun was a martin potatoe bun. The meat was soooo juicy. THIS WILL BE OUR NEW PLACE TO MUNCH OUT.

Cheesesteaks
Although I ordered the cheesesteak without anything but cheese and steak on it, I could clearly taste green pepper. I don't know if they need to clean their grill or move the food a little further away from each other but if I wanted to taste green pepper I would've asked for it. The cheese was fine although I've had better (I think it's the same they use in philly though so...). The bread and meat were nothing special. If they do import it from philly maybe they should stop because it's really not helping, I've had equally good bread and steak from Staten Island, probably fresher and/or cheaper too.
The meat was a bit overcooked as well. I know it's supposed to be pretty well done but this was a little tough and dry. I've had worse though. Too bad they gave me something like a pound of beef with no cheese surrounded by a bun slathered with cheese instead of layering it or something. It was actually better after I removed some meat.
Mozzarella Sticks
Pretty good you can get similar ones just about anywhere. I only got 5 for $5. Seems a bit pricey to me. I mean, if I offered you a single mozzarella stick for a dollar would you think that sounds like a good deal?
Hot Wings
The other person I tried it with got hot wings. She ordered it mild and said it was a bit hot but otherwise pretty good. Amusingly, better than planet wings (which I noted isn't saying much).
Onion Rings
These were good.
So that's about it. Not bad except for the cheesesteak and the prices (came out to about $12-14 a person, something closer to $8-10 would've been nice).

Wow Im so happy i found this place. The steaks are better the Pats and Genos. The place does get busy and you need to wait a while for a sandwich. The frys are awesome and they have great wings. THE STEAK IS SO GOOD MY BOYFRIEND IS ADDICTED. I f you like cheesesteaks this is the place to go.

very disappointed. I was so hoping this place would be great since hubby and i have been looking for a good place for cheesesteaks but sadly this was not it. The meat didn't taste fresh.. it had that "leftover meat" taste.

The food is great, but as of this writing, they've been open for more than 2 months and they still seem to be learning how to operated a business. Missing items from the orders and extensive waiting times.
They can be really great if they just got their system down.
I've been there more than 5 times since they opened and everytime it seems likes it the grand opening. A major part of the problem is the food service setup. Cheesesteaks are cooked in the front while everything else is cooked in back creating a mass confusion when things start to get busy. Another issue is each steak is cooked to order, this extends the wait time even more. If you're trying to be like Genos or Pats, know your surge periods and prepare.
