Went for the first time with a group of 12 people. Service was excellent! Waiter did not hang over our shoulders but we didn't have to hunt for him either. The salads were great, the tilapia was outstanding, and the steak was terrific. Everyone was pleasant and accomodating. Will definitely go back again!

We went here about a week ago, and I though the food was delicious. The only draw back was it was a very limited menu, very limited. I had the Filet Mignon and my wife had the shell steak. I must say, they were both cooked to perfection !!!! Also, the atmosphere is very nice and the balcony upstairs is romantic. The wait staff seemed friendly and kept on asking how everything was. Kudos to that. The only negative thing we didn't like was the dessert. We had a chocolate cake and it tasted like it was frozen and they microwaved it to get it warm. We didn't finish that but otherwise on the whole, it was good. I think they need to pay attention to the desserts to keep people in or right afterwards they might leave and go some place else for coffee and cake. The prices were pretty average for a steak house but I don't think they are much of a sports bar !!!!!

The food was great. My husband and I both had the surf and turf and it was cooked perfectly. Very quaint atmosphere and our waiter was very attentive.

Checked this place out yesterday for the parade. They had a st pats day menu. I had corned beef and cabbage that was exceptional. The table ordered a few appetizers that were all delicious. Its nice to see a little nicer of a rest on forest avenue. I would recommend checking it out.

We were recommended to this rest. by friends and are glad we checked it out. The place is attractive looking and the service was very good. Before dinner we had quesadillas and spinach/artichoke dip at the bar with sangria and beers- everything tasted delicious. My husband ordered a porterhouse and I had a skirt steak - both were cooked perfectly. For desert we had the homemade apple crumble, again delicious. The owner offered us after dinner drinks which I thought was very nice. Overall we were pleased and made reservations for our college reunion at the end of the month. We look forward to our get together and wish this restaurant well!

WE HAVE SEEN ALL THE REVIEWS. WENT TO EAT THERE WITH 2 OTHER COUPLES TO SEE FOR OUR SELF. THE PLACE WAS VERY NICE. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT! AND THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD! HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. LOVED THE JUKE BOX. BUT IT WAS MORE STEAKHOUSE THAN BAR. THIS PLACE HAS ALL THE RIGHT STUFF. PRICES WERE VERY REASONABLE. SOME WERE TOO REASONABLE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK . I WOULD HIGHLY RECAMEND SEVEN 4 SEVEN TO ANYONE.
Follow Up: (Less than 30 Minutes Apart) Went to see what all the Hipe is about on friday. All i could say is WOW !!!! The food was Great. No complaints. Going to eat there this friday with some friends. This is my new fav.Resturant
Follow Up: (Less than 30 Minutes Apart) Just what was needed on the island. A steakhouse...for sure. NOT a bar with just steaks on the menu. There is a bar menu too that we didn't try yet. Our rib eyes were perfect. Homemade blue cheese dressing on the wedge was exceptional...could of used some crumbled bacon, though.

Went for my husband's birthday in January. Food was quite overpriced and was only just okay- nothing to write home about. Waitstaff was constantly coming to the table and interrupting to ask if we liked a food item. Once or twice during the course of a meal, sure, but 5-6 times is an intrusion. And it wasn't the usual "how is everything?" It was "Are you SURE you liked it? Really?" Odd, to say the least.
Service was also slow- place was pretty empty the night I was there but it took 20 minutes to get two drinks. My Cosmopolitan was passable; my husbands Manhattan had a distinct peppermint flavor- both were ridiculously overpriced for Forest Avenue on Staten Island. His after dinner drink- a shot of amaretto on the rocks- was off the charts at $12.
Decor is unusual- definitely not a steak-house feel. We figure they just went with the previous cafe's layout but it really doesn't work for a steakhouse. The menus were cheap- printed in gray scale on cardstock; dessert menus in gray scale on sloppily folded paper. This may sound like quibbling but the menu is their business card- black ink would have been a much nicer, presentation if they weren't going to have them professionally printed.
Had high expectations for this place. We really wanted to like it but the owners, waitstaff and bartending staff seem inexperienced and skimping on important things like their menus tells us they don't seem to care about presentation. I wish them good luck but we probably will not return.

My husband and I brought our two children with us to check out Seven 4 Seven. Loved the atmosphere. The food was excellent. We tried the French Onion soup..perfect. Ceasar salad so fresh and tasty. Rib eyes were amazing..just perfect...delicious veggies too. The kids meals were so reasonable..$5 included nice choices, drink & ice cream.
We are looking forward to returning again soon. Lovely family owned business.

They really need to remove the Steakhouse from the restaurant name and it should be changed to Seven 4 Seven Tavern or Bar. The place did not seem as bad as the other reviewers may suggest but I do guess I can imagine the disappointment you may experience if you expect to go to a so called steakhouse.
There are other great recently opened Bars on the north shore, such as The Randall Manor Tavern which seem to serve great specials for lunch and dinner and do not try to pass themselves off as anything other than a local neighborhood bar and serve great food such as burgers, pasta's and seafood.
Giving it 3 Stars, would probably give it more if they never tried to play it off as a steakhouse.

Very nice Valentine Day menu Price fix menu was very good.I enjoyed the Salmon and my husband liked his steak. The shrimp cocktail for two was great also.It was Valentines day and a bit crowded, and our waitress was busy but very courteous and we lingered a little longer...a complimentary after dinner drink was offered and we graciously accepted and it topped off a very nice evening. We live in the area and are happy to have a new returant to visit!!!

Overpriced terrible food and service!!
I took my Girlfriend here last night for dinner and what a disappointment it was.
The decor is beautiful but that's about it! We ordered an appetizer that they didn't have (it was on the menu) they told us they had ran out! We finally ordered our steaks which took 45mins and when they came they were fatty and disgusting!! I actually took a bite and had to spit it into my napkin!!! The fat was ALL around it.. It was such low quality steak and what made it worse was having the ***** to charge $37 a STEAK!! How do you serve meat like this at this price you should be ashamed ripping people off like that.
The owner kept coming over looking for reassurance asking us how we liked the place which was annoying because we just wanted to enjoy our dinner together.
We would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and in fact we will be going out of our way to tell people how awful it was.
Overall - Food, Price and Service was a complete disappointment!

I was there last night for the first time. I've heard so much positive buzz living nearby so I figured I would check it out. The food was AMAZING! We had martinis before dinner at the bar sat for appetizers (great selection) and steaks at a table. We will be back. Best of luck and welcome to the neighborhood!

Great atmosphere. I have been there a few times and have consistently been pleased. I enjoyed apps (cheese quesdilla and seafood cigars were my fave) and martinis at the bar. There is a jukebox where we played songs we wanted to hear. For dinner I had a rib eye steak (cooked perfect) and the mashed potatoes were so creamy. Although the desserts sounded good, we were too full. I will be back to at least try the desserts :-)

Excellent dim lighting to set a great atmosphere. Great oldies music playing. The dinner was amazing especially the spinach and artichoke platter. I had the steak quesadillas and my friend had the surf and turf both of which came out exactly as we like them. The best part was the apple crumb cake with ice cream. What a way to top off the dinner experience. The drinks were good as well. We shared a pitcher of sangria that came out perfect to the last drop. They also had a great wine selection that we plan on tasting in the future. So happy that this place opened and we wish it well and cannot wait to see the day that we have to wait for a seat! The staff was also excellent. They were vivacious and friendly and willing to spend some time conversing with us rather then ignore us like other restaurants!!

What a disappointment! We had high hopes when we arrived and were hoping for a good steakhouse close to home. The service was extremely slow and the waitress kept apologizing. (She tried.) The management even brought us an extra appetizer on the house and told us they would eliminate another appetizer from the check. The appetizers were ok. (nothing memorable.) We still held out hope that once the steaks came out all would be worthwhile! An hour and 45 minutes later...our steaks arrived. A T-bone and surf and turf...we both ordered medium rare. The filet mignon was cooked beyond well done and inedible and the T-bone was more medium and a bit dried out. After waiting that long, we ate what was edible...paid the check and left. The owner asked us why we did not send the steaks back...I explained that after waiting almost two hours, I did not want to wait even more. Again, what a disappointment!
